These classes focus on a multi-sensory approach, feeding the curiosity of the children with their learning and French speaking environment
Learning a new language at an early age leads to an effortless pathway to creating a bilingual or trilingual child. Our French language classes for Kids & Teens are taught in an age-appropriate setting and non threatening environment, where students learn in fun ways. With only 5 to 8 students per class our instructors provide students conversational and contextual learning through stories, games, songs, and age appropriate activities.
These classes focus on a multi-sensory approach, feeding the curiosity of the children with their learning and French speaking environment
This after-school French club is designed for 11-14-year-olds who are complete or false beginners. The emphasis in A1.1 is on very basic
conversational skills. At the end of the semester, students will be able to introduce themselves and others; they will be able to talk about
their family, and express personal likes and dislikes. Culturally, they will learn about French greetings, French holidays, the names and
geographic locations of various Francophone countries.
At this level, students will develop conversational, pronunciation, grammar and writing skills. They will expand their cultural knowledge
while reading the comic strip version of Victor Hugo’s Les Misérables. Upon completing Génies A2.1.3, students will be able to talk about
their family, their friends, their school schedule, their hobbies as well as Victor Hugo’s life. They will be able to describe people,
objects, cities, stores, etc.
The objective of this class is to develop listening, reading, speaking, confidence in oral expression and knowledge of culture. Because language learning necessarily includes a cultural component, in this class students will learn about French and Francophone cultures and current events.
If you have taken French before, we suggest you take our FREE placement test to ensure you start at the
right level. You can take the test directly online.
After taking an online written test you will be prompted to schedule an oral test over the phone with our Education Coordinator.
